Rigging is the job of making the necessary preparations for lifting or moving a load safely. This 2-day, 12-module program will teach the skills required to know the strength and capabilities of many tools, materials and devices that are available for rigging work. In addition, how to properly apply this information and use the tools and the equipment safely.
The day 3 emphasis will be on non-routine lifts up to critical lifts. Trainees will be given different scenarios and follow a process to determine which category the lift falls under and who to get involved in the lift as well as in-depth categorizing and planning of lifts in a formal way.
Knowledge of the equipment and materials with which we work is one of the most important factors in occupational health and safety. Each item has been designed and developed to serve a specific purpose. Recognizing its capabilities and limitations not only improves efficiency but minimizes hazards and helps prevent accidents.
There is only one way to do any rigging job, and that is safely.
