At workplaces where a JHSC is required, at least one JHSC member representing the employer and one member representing workers must be certified by the Chief Prevention Officer. Certified members play an essential role in the Internal Responsibility System (IRS) for the occupational health and safety of Ontario workplaces.
* Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification Training Program: Part One & Two are delivered via Zoom-based training. JHSC Zoom-based training courses may be subject to rescheduling based on the number of registered participants. In-person training can be delivered on site with a minimum of 6 participants.

Part One of the JHSC Certification Training is a 3-day program generic to all workplaces that require both employer and worker certified members, regardless of workplace sector.

The 2-day Part Two program reviews the key concepts of Part One and then applies the knowledge and understanding of the RACE methodology to hazards that are relevant to individual workplaces.
JHSC Certification Part One Training is required before taking JHSC Certification Part Two Training.

Retain your JHSM member certification by renewing your training with our refresher course. Must be completed within 3 years of completing Part 1 & 2.
